Established in...
2012 in Leicestershire, Go-Getta CIC supports young people to live healthier, happier, safer and more responsible lives.
We motivate...
young people to reach their potential and teach them to play their part in creating safer and more cohesive communities.
We believe...
that all young people should have access to opportunities where they can learn, feel safe and importantly, have fun.
All of our work with young people is underpinned by our six core values:
Acceptance
We strive to support young people to build self-esteem by valuing and accepting them for who they are, and helping them to see that they are more than their mistakes or unhelpful choices
Nurturing
We encourage young people to explore, understand and manage their own feelings, and facilitate their understanding of the impact of their words and actions on others
Empathy
We pride ourselves on forming relationships built on openness and mutual respect and providing a safe place where young people feel they belong and can make a positive difference
Building Resilience
We endeavour to support young people to overcome obstacles and meet challenges, and to better cope with disappointments and set-backs
Hope And Belief
We believe that everyone deserves a chance to make changes for the better, have hope that they can change, and refuse to give up on young people
Realising Potential
We create an enabling environment where young people are given opportunities to try new things, learn about themselves and develop new skills
Go-Getta CIC achieves success through:
Employing staff who are positive role models, demonstrating to young people how to behave and make better or positive choices
Training and developing knowledgeable staff with an in-depth understanding and empathy for individual life experiences and their impacts
Relationship building based on voluntary engagement and going ‘the extra mile’ to provide opportunities to engage
Designing and delivering positive activities to build trust, unearth talents and ensure all are given opportunities to participate
Setting boundaries with young people and challenging behaviours that will be to their detriment
Using praise, encouragement, acknowledgement of skills, strengths and qualities to build self-esteem, self-belief, confidence, positive self-image and self-efficacy
Providing a responsive and flexible service which adapts and changes dependent on the need of our service users, and not solely to fulfil our own objectives
